The secret of the Anointing
(Isaiah 10:27 …yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing)
Let us remember Jesus here – many times when Jesus prayed He avoided people; He looked for a place away from the public. We read in the Scriptures that “He withdrew Himself,” “went to a solitary place,” or “in the wilderness,” or “leaving them” to spend time alone with His Father.
The Father gave the Son the Spirit without measure. Jesus received His power, His anointing, His strength from the Father not only to do miracles but to defeat Satan. Jesus did not take His Father’s presence for granted just because He is the Son of God; He set aside special times to be with His Father because He came to fulfill His Father’s will.
As believers and ministers we learn from Jesus that miracles and anointing do not come to us by attending leaders conference or seminars. These messages and lectures are good and they help to understand the Word; however, listening to preachers does not bring anointing.
Real anointing comes from the Holy Spirit – the Scripture says, the letter kills but the Spirit gives life. To receive the anointing we have to wait like the disciples waited for the Holy Spirit in the upper room (Read Acts 1 – 3). You cannot be an effective believer, leader or minister without the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The anointing takes you beyond your natural abilities and capabilities and causes you to attain supernatural results. The disciples were able to raise the dead, cast out demons, heal the sick, and preach with boldness because they were filled with power from on high.
The secret of the anointing is spending time alone with Jesus.
I come to the garden alone

And the voice I hear falling on my ear
